@Bohol the honourable Caynaanshe deserves credit, i watched an interview with General Galaal who mentioned Caynaanshe was the taliye who integrated the North and South armies in 1960 by introducing a Somali language based training when he worked at Xalane camp. Words like "dab" "dabci" etc.

Yeah he's alive but i think he retired from Politics. He came second in the recent HG leadership elections that happened in Hobyo which was won by @Samaalic Era's uncle Professor Shirwac. I think Galaal is Ayaanle Cayr but his mom is MJ which is probably why he never won

Caynaanshe was the first commander of the 26th sector based in Hargeisa in 1960, i have seen him in videos with President Aden and President Abdirashid when they visited the North, but sadly he was undermined by Cigaal who let Afwayne resume General Dauds post. I recently found out General Ismail Ahmed Ismail was HY though, he use to command the Custodial Corps (Asluubta).

Very informative specially about the part of Egal undermining him. I will look into it. There use to be too many high ranking HY generals in the Somalia army those days including General Abdullahi Kongo.

How can cigaal undermine him when he wasn’t president so doesn’t pick the taliye. He wasn’t even PM when siad barre became general. Caynashe although he is isaaq he was part of somalia Italia police force like barre and dauud. He didn’t come from Somaliland scouts. When somalia got independence abdullahi isse have all the konfuur soldiers a 1 rank promotion. The ones from Somaliland didn’t get any rank promotion upon independence this was one of the reasons for the 1961 coup as konfuur had militarily and politically taken all the power. Cigaal was only 27 when he lead us to independence though and his political nativity was prayed.
