Saudi Arabia has 25x the oil reserves of Algeria. and all gulf countries have far more gas reserves whilst having tiny populations compared to 45 million algeria. if qatar had 45 million people it would be worse off than algeria.

Libya only had 6 million, Algeria which has a similar population to Morocco also has an economy similar in size to the Moroccans as well despite Morocco not having any petro-wealth.The Algerian generals clearly mismanaged their country, they got lucky with this Ukraine-Russia war with Euros being desperate for alternative sources and higher oil and gas prices.

Algeria and Libya are both disaster nations that are supposed to be far wealthier than places like Egypt and Morocco.Same with Northern Sudan.The Gulf royals are corrupt but in a way because of the tribal nature of the society kind of have a responsibility to share the wealth with their people and the various tribes
