a question for somali atheists?

i assume you have somali friends, i know you would never tell you parents that you're not muslim, but what about you're friends, somali friends? do they know? If yes what was their reaction?

Do you have plans visiting to somalia?

Most of the Somali boys that I know do alot of un-islamic things like drink alcohol, don't really prioritise prayer and many of them have non-muslim/non-somali girlfriends, but they still claim to be muslim and pray sometimes. So while I'm not religious myself, even if I did tell them then I doubt they would care tbh, otherwise it would be pretty hypocritical. However they probably lowkey think I'm not muslim since I lowkey think they're not muslim lol. Also I've been to Somalia (went last year for the first time) but I was with my hooyo and uncle the whole time so it was chill af

I read studies show that something like 10% or 20% in the Muslim world don't even truly believe.

You never know when you will die also it's not easy to say the shahda at your death bed trust me I've seen people telling their loved ones to say the word but they couldn't people begged him just say those words and yet he couldn't truly scary stuff

Odds are in his favour tbh. Even if he doesn't manage to say the shahada, he'll most likely be fine, so it's a solid plan.

My mum is super religious and she is a single mum. If she found out one of her children whom she raised for so long didn't believe I think she would have a mental breakdown no lie, plus I'd probably be disowned.

Also I'd describe myself as an atheist towards the abrahamic god
Atheist = someone who lacks belief that a god/gods exist
Agnostics = someone who believes that the existence of god is unknowable - they don't believe a god/gods either exist or don't exist (kind of neutral)

There are obviously lots of different gods/deities, most of which I don't know about (since there's thousands of different religions). I just disbelieve in the god of the Islamic and Judeo-Christian traditions.

Agnostic. The existence of a divine being can't really be known, its entirely based on faith.
