Why do you insist on calling Somalia a “colonial name” when Somaliland is also?

Somalia means Somaliland in Italian, the language of our former coloniser.

However, Somaliland means Somaliland in English, the language of SL’s former coloniser.

Your witty remarks is the equivalent of the pot calling the kettle black.

He wants monopoly on the name ardul Soomaal. Sneaky fella.

The funniest thing is that Somalia using an Italian name was pragmatic.

Upon independence, there was no agreed script for Somali so we couldn’t use a Somali name.

English and Italian are both colonial languages but Italian was more widespread, hence why Somalia was used.

Why does he keep using those lines through words in his writing and makes us tap on his hidden words to prove his irrelevant point. I lose a few braincells everytime I try to read his posts.

This my solution as long as we speak English then we use the English word Soomaliland i.e. the North/JSL is northern Soomaliland and the Somalia Italiana is southern Somaliland. When we speak Italiaj, Spanish etc. the word will be Somalia

Why do you insist on calling Somalia a “colonial name” when Somaliland is also?

Why dont you drop your colonisl name? I never deny that Somaaliland is an English/Germanic name. Youre using the English language but you insist on using your colonial Italian name

Somalia means Somaliland in Italian, the language of our former coloniser.

This is where we agree. Jaalle Afweyne and other stooges students trained by Italian colonialists propagated their colonial name

However, Somaliland means Somaliland in English, the language of SL’s former coloniser.

So when we use English lets say Somaliland. When you go to Italy its Somalia

The funniest thing is that Somalia using an Italian name was pragmatic.

It was pragmatic for the 1960s Southern mafiosi who didnt even ratify the Somaliland Law of Union while they also broke that law and committed election fraud that forced northerners to refer to the south as Wanlaweyn after WanlawrWanlaweyn village had more votes counted than the northwest region

Upon independence, there was no agreed script for Somali so we couldn’t use a Somali name.

The name that was agreed to is the Somali Republic

English and Italian are both colonial languages but Italian was more widespread, hence why Somalia was used.

English is now kire widespread not just around the whole world but even Somalia Italiana
