This might be an unpopular opinion for some on here but...
Firstly, these kids were naive who swallowed up what they've seen online and they'll probably be free soon. They same officers who arrested them were Samaroon too and most were happy they were apprehended. Every regions police officers/army soldiers are from the community that they serve. Don't expect SL police/army units to serve in another region other than their own unless for conflict, training/quality control and other business.
I guarantee you the vast majority and most Reer Awdal don't really give a damn about Mogadishu anymore nor do they ever care to go back or not. The whole Somalinimo shit finished 30 years ago.
Reer Awdal are not very ideological people but are pragmatic, they work with what they have and Somaliland works. It might not be the best but it works. And that's all you need.
Anyone who knows me online, would know that I've never been the biggest fan of SL, and I'm not an ideologue, so I can speak fairly on this issue because I don't have any deep personal attachments to the issue. I can say confidently that Reer Awdal do not care to be part of Mogadishu. It's not going to happen, that ship has sailed. Awdal is more attached to politics in Ethiopia and Djibouti than Mogadishu, there would be a much bigger chance of Awdal joining Ethiopia or Djibouti than Mogadishu. Geopolitics and popular sentiment renders it impossible that Awdal would ever be part of Mogadishu.
That's my 2 cents.

It's all good bro. We can have those internal opinions. In any Democractic country like Somaliland, people have disagreements about political parties.
I have more favourable opinions of Kulmiye than I have of Waddani, but our good brother @Gantaal97 can equally have the complete opposite opinion. May the best man win in all of our upcoming free and fair elections.

I think SL is doing really well and if given a fair chance in the international community I think they'd do really well.
But SL has to be very careful not to become a nepotist tribal enclave or it will just become anouther South Sudan. It has proven itself well so far, but it needs to make a stronger constitution and that has to be above clans. If clan is above all else, then it will become problematic. But SL is far better than any other place in the Horn currently.
does it matter which clan the officers come from? At the end of the day it’s Somaliland officers right? Or are you insinuating Samaroon officers aren’t real Somaliland officers?
The blue flag doesn't only represent Xamar. Thats the flag they raised when they were freed from the British

Sister, I have nothing against Somalia or Mogadishu. It just will not happen. A whole generation was born without ever knowing anything about Somalia or Mogadishu.

Oh they can choose which flag they want to fly. They just have to be prepared to face the consequences of questioning Somaliland's Independence and sovereignty.
