50,000 Oromos deported from Djibouti

LMAO there is no alternative port to Djibouti for Ethiopia. You have no choice but to use them for the next 10 years at least, because it is the closest port and the only one with train link direct to Addis Ababa. Even then the cost of using ports like Port Sudan or Mombasa for you would be unbearable because Ethiopia already is in the middle of an economic crisis. The cost of transport to those ports is at least 2x or 3x simply because of the distance. And you need to maintain your exports like coffee without interruption to pay for that ballooning Ethiopian government debt that has been built up over the past 20 years. You also need to keep the trade flows going desperately to keep those tens of millions of restless Oromo and Amhara youth employed or else you will experience immense social unrest like you have never seen. Lastly you can't afford to build new rail links to Mombasa, Assab/Massawa or Port Sudan because most international creditors have stopped extending new debt to Ethiopia and because of the immense fiscal deficit, so good luck with that. Djibouti has you Ethiopians by the balls for a few years yet.

And a few years is all that Djibouti needs to diversify their economy. :chrisfreshhah: They already have China investing BILLIONS which is already completely transforming the Djiboutian economy as a trans-shipment hub that is no longer dependent on Ethiopia. They now have much more income from Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French and USA military bases which they have renegotiated on much more favourable terms and that will also offset some of the income lost. They will soon start producing energy from the new Djiboutian power plant that is under construction and they are also planning a desalination plant for water. Food they can import.

Check. Mate. Djibouti wins. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Somalis have been trading for thousands of years through their coast. You Oromo peasants awoke yesterday and think you can take over Somali lands forcefully :hahaidiot:

Djibouti's investments by other countries, not including bases, is given with perception of a good relation with the horn of Africa's biggest market. If they were to cut ties do you think the Chinese will continue to invest in a small country that has nothing else going for it except the shipping industry associated with us? Like you said they may have us for a few years but once they lose trust they are screwed. Especially because they can not go to the other neighboring countries to get a shred of what they got from Ethiopia. The goverment Should not be sentimental and act out so rashly. What happened in Dire Dawa was not targeting Djiboutian's specifically but they got caught up in the furor. The 30,000 people they expelled had nothing to do with it. It is clear they are not happy with us because we have decided to have stakes in other ports but that is what happens when you act in bad faith. They should not exasperat the situation. They have a good reputation in Ethiopia for a place of business and investment, so they should not be messing with their image over killings that were not sanctioned by the government.

And
the west feeds you

we could literally destroy your economy tomorrow. Shutup

Kkkk how? Delusions don't feed your family the billons we over pay to use your ports does so....why don't give a try. See which one of us runs of the road in this game of chicken lol.

the west feeds you

That is why we don't expel them by the thousand whenever Ethiopians are mistreated. The Arabs have mistreated our people like no other but you don't see us doing why you did because we see the bigger picture. That was all I was say Djibouti should do. Don't be emotional.
