Your Parents were raised in the west did they come early like 70s scholarship era? If it's the 90 refugee wave and your saying their raised in the west? must of been esl crowd who went to secondary school or university. They definitely not born in the west as kids born are in 91 to 2002 and late 20s and early 30s and we have birth certificates not fake age from refugee camp. So your 18 and your dad is 28? so he had u at 10 years old.
Lmfao what 😭😭😭. Nah they came like early 90s and they were both 5 when they left. My dad went straight to the UK but my mum went with her aunt to Canada. They are both are in their late 30s and had me in their early 20s

some of my earliest memories were how connected and resourceful we were in the early days, we had one van that did all the transportation. All our hoyos use to go up north every week to the only halal store owned by arabs. life wasn't easy but it was beautiful :)

Reminds me of when my family visit relatives in suburb part of unspecified nordic country they have to drive half an hour to get to bazaar to get frozen meat halaal

All immigrant families/diaspora born in west will eventually lose their identity and eventually mix whether it's by mixing out or losing culture/religion it's inevitable . This will happen next 100-200 years from now. It's already begun most 3rd gen Somalis dont speak Somali to their kids.
Unfortunately, I think it will happen much sooner.
