30 Years of Living in the West

I'd imagine most of our parents came to the west from the 1990s onwards. Now that the second generation have largely reached adulthood, I think it's an interesting time of reflection.

From translating government documents for our parents when we were still learning the alphabet at school, to graduating, working jobs and starting families, or being a gang menace spending your days in HMP Feltham. It sure has been a long ride 🥲

I wonder how different the next generation's experiences will be, and if they'll be significantly divorced from their culture.

All immigrant families/diaspora born in west will eventually lose their identity and eventually mix whether it's by mixing out or losing culture/religion it's inevitable . This will happen next 100-200 years from now. It's already begun most 3rd gen Somalis dont speak Somali to their kids.
