Mohamed Hassan was a 20-year-old man who worked as a security guard. Last night, he was shot and killed by a random person while in downtown Minneapolis. This senseless act of violence took away a beautiful, beloved brother and son, who was the youngest of four children. Mohamed’s mom is a single mother whose world has bern shattered by the unexpected loss of her son. She is asking for our support to help cover the costs for funeral, headstone, and other expenses. As a Somali and Muslim family, they are required to bury Mohamed within three days.
Mohamed is the cousin of Sumaya Aden. Sumaya’s brother, Isak Aden, was a U of M student who was killed by police two years ago. It is hard to imagine what this family is experiencing. They need our help to get through this terrible tragedy.
