Another tactic they adopted have turned out to be deadly for the Somali government forces. They bury their weapons in many locations in South - Central Somalia. These locations are secret and ordinary fighters are not aware of them.

Their forces are also secretive and wear in civilian clothes. In any given town in the South, there could be hundreds of sleeper cells wearing civilian clothes. They could be your shoe shiners, laborers, and ordinary workers. One day they will get the order and then boom here they are storming a base.

Somebody higher up in the chain decided he would send these young men in an unprotected base, all of these weapons would remain in that defenseless base, and UGUS would storm the base with an overwhelming force. Those poor and young cadets were led to the slaughter.
