I can easily make the argument that it was Ogaden who made a deal with the devil and have seriously endangered the prospects for the kind of federalism Puntland was pursuing.

MJ are the largest Darod subclan in Somalia. Every Marehan & Ogaden PM or president will be weaker than an MJ PM or president. Why? because Ogaden and Marehan have no political base. Why? Because they have failed to create a functioning Jubaland.
Even if I contend that permanently and say that you will have a stronger president, even with a fully free JL. This is irrelevant because nobody would rely on any of the recent PL presidents, and you know yourself that it isn't all because we are dysfunctional and bitter.
Do you think because Xamse was a muppet that we would not see the qaraar from Deni, making it impossible for an Ogaden PM to collaborate with PL entirely? I can't be bothered to find it, but the interview from Denis' campaign manager basically confirms what we already knew.
