Waa my one gripe with a lot of people with the salafi mindset. I like salafiyadda as well i would call myself a layman salafi (meaning i learn from my teacher) and i pine for the simplicity of how life would be in the time of nebiga Scw. I'm all for ummah but I don't think things are changing soon.

You're conflating things. Having a primordial entitelment ot a land is ridiculous and false, and an eternal entitlement is delusional because nothing lasts forever. But if someone comes to your Somali village today and says they will set shop because all land belongs to no one is an audacious mentality that causes problems. That is why European Jews coming to forcefully replace a people through genocide and ethnic cleansing is not fair because they somehow have written in their tradition that the whole region belongs to them. Allah chooses who inherits the land, but the fact that some people inherit it means that there are inheritors. Throughout the history of all the corners of the world, you see migration, empires rise and crumble -- these things happen. That is normal. Europe was not what it is today 2000 years ago.

But this notion that the Somali peninsula belongs to everyone on earth equally is quite ridiculous.

The interesting thing is that Somalis did not have to invade and push people out when we came to this land because the region had just undergone a dry period, causing the Cushites that lived there earlier to move into the Ethiopian highlands. Then we came when it became green again. It was a blessing. Then Allah blessed us with the camel so we could live, herd, travel, and engage in commerce that required desert logistics when things became drier again, a few centuries after we arrived in the land. This allowed us to connect the hinterland all the way to modern Ethiopia and the coastlands, dealing with our own globalized trade. The archeology shows our ancestors were very wealthy because of these benefits, these blessings from Allah.
