Now personally I dont care for the term black. But I understand that I (and every Somali) is black to society. You are delusion if you can’t accept this. Being allegedly mistaken for Indian and Arab one time doesnt change that you are seen as black.

Now why don’t Somalis see themselves as black, and why is the ‘blackness’ of Somalis in question?

You have a few things mixed up we are opposed to the "Black" label itself which is 100% wrong Black IS NOT a RACE people who identity Black American are so mixed up racially and mentally due to brutal slavery they can't pinpoint where they're from exactly Senegal? I don’t mind being considered black, but I hate when I have to go against my personal individuality for someone else’s convenience. My cousin brought a really good point about this subject. He said Somalis would be more willing to embrace the label black and help with their causes is AAs actually tried to learn about the culture and respect our differences. But I’m not identify as an African American. Black, fine. Also, no I’m not doing to victim crap .

But not all black or minorities treated the same and have different obstacles. Even whites are a hierarchy. Italians and Slavics will tell that Nordic whites think they’re better than them. Hilter wouldn’t accept Kim Kardashian. So while I’m black, I do get treated differently than other blacks and Latinos.
