Cabiid mentality

Our mentality as a people is too damn toxic and is detrimental to us in every aspect, culturally, politically, and socially. Our obsessions with the Arabs is nasty and this want to go the extremes for their approval is pathetic. We are just obedient dogs for them to toy with and take advantage of and we are okay with that because they are our Muslim brothers. We adopt all their negative policies and behaviors just to show how loyal and obedient we are.

We changed our traditional dress for them, adopting Arabic culture and sharia law, and our language is getting ever so fuct every day with Somalia and Somaliland taking Arabic as one of its official languages all in the name of the religion (but these things aren't required to be a Muslim). Furthermore, we personify and exude their racism, bigotry, and hatred. Not to mention, our close-mindedness and intolerance for new ideas and different thinking. These are all characteristics that are holding back the Arab world but we unconditionally champion them.

Don't misunderstand me walaalayal; I am not going after or trying to bash the religion but I think we need to learn to separate religion and the Arabs. Why do we insult Madows, where is this hatred present in us but no other black Africans coming from? I really hope we don't disappear linguistically and culturally, I really hope we don't become just another Arabanized country.

I agree for the most part. And when you insult Arabs who come for Somalis, they always bring up Prophet Muhammad SAW. :what1:

However, Madows are not innocent either. They insult Somalis a lot as well but I agree with not insulting anyone first.

A GOOD PORTION OF SOMALIS BELIEVE COPYING ARABS AND WORSHIPPING THEM WILL GRANT THEM REWARDS AND GOOD DEED’S :( ITS FRIGHTENING HOW WE’RE SLOWLY BECOMING CULTURE-LESS

personally don't feel somalis are obsessed with arabs. all the arabic culture you mentioned is linked to religion, theres extreme xenophobia in many african countries, somalis probably not as bad as some africans.

Daily muh Arabs bad thread. Truth is Arab culture is superior so people adopt it. It happened in the Levant, North Africa, Persia and the Indus Valley. You can't stop it by making threads.

It is a synonym for Islamic Law. Etymological fallacy there.

Sharia means religious law however it’s redundant, Arabs have other words for secular legislation. It’s only a fallacy in the way of the word “literally” being used as figuratively would be, factually wrong, but since it’s common use it’s an accepted definition.

Sxb I don't speak Arabic, why am I expected to know the literal meaning of an Arabic word rather than what it usually means?

Damn another house negro who feels inferior to arabs, you are the embarrassment here. You sound like an african american now
you're jokes man. I've never even given an Arab a second thought. I don't hate them and I don't like them but it does bother me when people forsake themselves for someone else.

Apparently it is called ''bilingual tautological expression'', it is seemingly common in Yiddish. :hmm:

So the big Arab boogey man really made you hate the Shariah Law, rules sent upon us by ALLAH SWT. The next stop is you will fully leave Islam because of your hatred against Arabs. Thats how most of these Somali gaals start of.

As a Somali you shouldn’t be giving a toss about Arabs your not higher then them but they are not better than you either. So stop complaining about Arabs and fix your country and return to your creator

I am bro but I am not interested in becoming an Arab. I am okay with my language and culture, don't need anyone else

Alright, walaal but if you’re muslim you should probably at least know the meaning of sharia. It and it’s variations are in our language too e.g “sharciga”

Sxb I see what you are saying, and don't worry I won't be leaving the religion. That was never my intention. All I am doing here is advocating for the preservation of our culture and language which is an actual danger of being replaced by Arabic language and culture.

My point was that if we compromised everything and try to model ourselves after God's chosen people to get closer to god, (I don't believe that what so ever but that seems to be the general sentiment of our people) we will be a people with no value. And that is why I believe we shouldn't be so quick to forsake the things that are important to us. Additionally, it is my hope for us to be a leader in the Muslim world rather than just following what other Muslim countries are doing.

Unfortunately, we can't do that if we are so threatened by new and foreign ideas. Islamic laws will eventually go through a period of revisions in order to make it compatible with the current times and I had hoped we could be a catalyst for this change rather than just a bystander. Sharia law is outdated and too brutal for our time, which is why I believe it will be (slightly) revised to fit and suit modern people. We simply can't be stoning and maiming people in this day and age.

:yacadiim:Okay, this a lot, lemme try and break this down without being harsh and actually contribute to this thread.....

Alright nothing wrong with this, but just a heads up, cultures change and advance as do languages.

which is an actual danger of being replaced by Arabic language and culture.

It's not.

A bunch of qurbajoog kids who have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to Arabs decided to be alarmist and make up this lie I don't see Somali being Arabized. If you're really worried about Arabic loan words just remember, Spanish has way more Arabic loan words in it's language and I don't see Spaniards complaining. I also fail to see how having Arabic loan words is also a bad thing. On top of this I don't see the same energy for Swahili, Farsi, English, Hindi and Italian loan words as well.
:farmajoyaab:

Okay I get the feeling you believe in Freedom of Speech, of thought and of expression.

I don't wanna strawman you, but this is the vibes I'm getting from you. I have to say you're playing with fire there.

Reason being: If we use this line of thinking we will find that under freedom of speech and expression we'll find that, yes, we can state new ideas and express them, but you can also use freedom of speech to rebut those ideas and make a case against them. Some new, and old ideas do deserve to be criticized.
:manny:

Also, ask yourself do you really want Somalis, the very same Somalis who are on tiktok, getting freedom of expression, expressing themselves?
:ummhmm:

Islamic laws will eventually go through a period of revisions in order to make it compatible with the current times

:what::snoop:

Consider this following verse in the Quran:

"This day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear Me. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion".[Quran 5:3]

Allah (SWT) has perfected your religion for you there's no need to change it.

Sharia law is outdated and too brutal for our time, which is why I believe it will be (slightly) revised to fit and suitmodern people. We simply can't be stoning andmaiming people in this day and age.

:stopit::comeon:

Also consider this following verse as well:

"And judge, [O Muúammad], between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations and beware of them, lest they tempt you away from some of what Allah has revealed to you. And if they turn away – then know that Allah only intends to afflict them with some of their [own] sins. And indeed, many among the people are defiantly disobedient."[Quran 5:49]

You cannot use any other law other than what Allah(SWT) has preordained and to call what Allah(SWT) has prescribed for to be "outdated and too brutal for our time" is blasphemous and you also said "which is why I believe it will be (slightly) revised to fit and suitmodern people" to alter what God had brought down for you is also blasphemous.
