I see a lot of comments about hormuud and very little do people realise that every Somali clan has large investment stakes in it.
In fact in terms of investments for the past 3 decade and more it has yielded the greatest returns in terms of dividends to the people then any other company in Somalia.
People live of these yearly dividends and raise families on them, it's such a secure investment that even the Somali banks are suffering because its safer to invest your 30k in hormuud then keep it in the bank.
The company has stood the test of times, civil wars, lawlessness and a series of corrupt bad governments etc. it has managed to survive all for good reasons.
They are literally everywhere today moving into banking and agriculture too, this is made possible by the colossal never ending large investments made by the people because of there good business and track record.
No one will touch them because everyone is invested, your own tribal elders will wage war against you long before Hormuud even needs to think about paying you a hefty bribe to disappear.
Whatever region they go into they are deeply entrenched and employ the locals with good pay, most of the wealthy in that region have already bought their shares which are second to none in performance and dividend yields.
It wouldn't surprise me if Madoobe was given much larger shares then usual as part of the deal, it's a win/win for him, the people of J/land, Hormuud and the investors, in the end money TALKS.
There is no other company who is remotely as competent as Hormuud, yes others can do the electricity, but the cost of this would be astronomical and a logistic nightmare not only for them but also the consumers and businesses in J/land.
Money knows no Qabyaalad and Qabyaalad is only for the poor, the down-trodden and the bottom feeders of society.
