How much would you take?

I'd take 2 million a year, 1.5 million spent on my personal politics, bribing mps and covert security Operations.

The remaining 500k, I'd save it for a rainy day, spent it on the xaas and mistresses.
I wouldn't take anything because I understand the deep humiliation that comes with coming from the poorest region in the world. Politicians back home and fobs like you don't understand this. I was born and raised in Canada. I know how far behind we are and what is possible if we try.
Ma "our thieves are the best thieves" ay sheekada mareesaa? :mjlol:

Ilaahow caqliga ha naga qaadin :farmajoyaab:
At the end of the day, Puntland is still Africa.

It's like that eh :gucciwhat:

Somalia shouldn't extract it's oil atm since the economy will be controlled by oil prices.
If the oil price is low, we fall into poverty and if it's high we get prosperity which is why you should have a mix between agriculture, tech etc.

@Nomad the only reason why Puntland, the worst region in Somalia in terms of water, is doing better than places like Gedo and Lower Shabelle is because we have better leadership. If Puntland was as corrupt as those regions, we could not exist.

If southern Somalia were to find oil it would become another Nigeria, if Puntland were to find oil we would become another Oman. That is the difference between us.

We even managed to have flourishing farmlands and export them to the "fertile" South.

These people will never admit that Puntite leaders are the best in Somalia.

Farmaajo and Kheyre opened up Somalia's eez to fishing and as a result vessels which never ventured inside our eez are basically clearing out our stocks. They have given out fishing licenses before they had the ability to inspect ships at sea. The number of fishing vessels which have begun to fish inside Somalia's eez since 2017 is astounding. They say that they care about the nation, but they signed away Somalia's fisheries for $1 million.

@Thegoodshepherd your a respectful guy saw it on your time in somnet and here.

Look the statement you made is half correct, beesha lacked leadership and unity for a while but this has changed in the last 5 years. Sade today is organised from liban zone in Ethiopia to galgaduud and jubbaland.

But that is not what this topic is about. We are taking about oil. And we all know there is no oil in puntland we all witnessed the great big faroole hoax of early 2010's

After selling Somalia marine to china for cheap money. Oil will not be different. South Somalia has bad leadership allahmdullah ours are opposite.

Ha nolato PL.

Life is what you make it. The oil could be a gift or a curse depending on leaders. For example let’s say 10 billion a year is made. 7 billion is spent on infrastructure projects like ports airports roads trains. Along with the right business friendly legislation Somalia can be a first world country within 5-7 years. But if it is used to bloat the public sector work force and to give our patronage we will not be pumping oil for a year before a civil war happens and an isbarso is put down on it. There will be furious muucaarad who will at the first crisis end the whole thing. A dip in oil price will send the country into civil war.

Just because it’s at sea don’t think maryooley can’t get to it. A fishing boat and a rpg is enough to end it all.

They are focusing first on the ocean because they know they can't explore it on land. They're running away from reality. Forget RPG, alshabab has infiltrated the security apparatus and government long time ago. Just last year they had a mole which wiped out almost the entire Mogadishu city administration including the mayor, police chiefs and several deputies inside the city hall.

No lies have been told here. It’s Africa and our politicians are corrupt but they have the self awareness to take a dollar out of 5 instead of the whole 5.

This is something @nine @nomand and @Abdi Caato are unfamiliar with.

This reminds me of the Mudug MP who got 40 or something grand by Gaas for a vote but went straight to Godod base and gave the troops all the $$ in front the media calling out Gaas succeeding to get double the amount for a 2nd payoff for himself:ftw9nwa:

PL corruption is different from SFG corruption the $$ stays within the state not foreign bank accounts so every eats good:p
