Why didn't Ethiopians Christianize Somalis before Islam? 🤔

The Kingdom of Axum officially became a Christian kingdom in the 4th century AD, long before Islam.

Christianity is known for expanding and sending out mercenaries to convert the pagan masses.

The sultanates didn't exist in this timeline, and Somalis worshiped the pagan God Waaq.

Why didn't or couldn't the Aksumites convert the Somalis who lived right next door?

There’s Christian burials found in woqooyi galbeed that have been dated to the 13th century. There was probably some form of Christian community but they were living among tolerate secular pagans as noted by pagan waaqist sites being found in the same area & time span

Aksum did send 10k army to zeila but they disappeared and were never heard from, Aksum also allied with Somalis in the conquest of Yemen, berber Somali took Aden south Yemen, so Somalis were quite powerful

Waaq wasn't pagan, it was an early form of monotheism separate which came with early cushites, we probably saw Christianity as an abomination, nigguhs out here believing in 3 beings.

Only communities living in Nugal, Lol. Did these habashas not invest in spreading their own religion like their Roman and European Christians brothers did?

They spread Christianity by crusades. Even though they themselves were converted to Christianity peacefully 😂

There’s also a 5th century axumite tablet describing a war habeshas had against Proto Somalis living in Hawd and Nugaal. They had their sights in Somalia at one point
The tablet is from Adulis and Rhauso and Solate aren’t even Somalí much less deep into nugaal
