Was the Djibouti Conference the end of Somali unity ?

Warmurtiyeedka Shirka Djibouti ee wadahadalada Dawladda Federaalka Soomaaliya iyo Dawladda Somaliland.

In light of the constructive negotiations for the resolution of the issues between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Government of Somaliland, a summit was convened in Djibouti on the 28th and 29th of December 2023, led by two delegations under the leadership of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Government of Somalia and President Muse Bihi Abdi of Government of Somaliland .​

The way the COMMUNIQUE was drafted is a victory for Somaliland as it was drafted as an agreement between two equal countries and NOT as an agreement between a Recognized Country and a Separatist region .

The big question: What is the definition of Somaliland ?

What are the borders of Somaliland ?

By signing this COMMUNIQUE , the Somali President and the Federal Government of Somalia recognize that Khatumo State lies within the borders of Somaliland .

By signing this COMMUNIQUE, the Somali President and the Federal Government of Somalia acknowledge that the Warsangeli lands in the Sanaag region are within the borders of Somaliland .

By signing this COMMUNIQUE, the Somali President and the Federal Government of Somalia acknowledge that the Awdal Region are within the borders of Somaliland .

This agreement confirms the position of the Somali federal government that it does NOT recognize Khatumo State as a Somali Federal State .


Unfortunately, because of this agreement, we are now in a tragic situation Because this agreement empowered the Somaliland to be an equal partner with the Federal Government of Somalia .

What is the goal of the Somali president ?

Does Somali President Hassan Sheikh SEEK to help Somaliland achieve its independence ?

After the Sool War, Somaliland and Muse Bihi were in a weak position .

The question is:
Why did Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud HOLD this meeting at THIS TIME with Muse Bihi , whose presidential term has ended and whose position is weak after the Sool war?

Because of this meeting , the Somaliland separatist project was revived, which led to giving authority and encouragement to Muse Bihi to move forward with the signing of the memorandum of understanding ( MoU ) with Ethiopia .

What Hassan Sheikh’s government and previous Somali governments are doing is pleasing the separatist party at the expense of the unionist parties .

We all know that this government and previous Somali governments are not independent in their decisions and that they receive these orders from countries that support Somalia and from international organizations whose ultimate goal is the disintegration of Somalia .​

Not dumb to Ethiopia as long they get what they want. The jun26 1960 borders are already set man. They apart of it if they like it or not. And They will like once were recognised. There’s nothing for them in the failed state of Somalia anyway.

Muse Bihi in that meeting didn't get what he wanted which was independence talks from Mogadishu. So he went to the Ethiopians who had been willing to offer it some months before. The deal was already on the table.
