Greater Mudug encompasses the people of Mudug and Galgaadud. The most unappreciated region of Somalia but the wealthiest in resilience and culture. After 1991 many reer Mudug settled in Benedir, quickly dominating trade and education. They created Hormuud telecom, Bakaraat Market, built many hotels, schools and universities.
My dad was a nomad, just like his dad. He always told me how hard his life was and how lucky I am. He left Mudug at as a teen young age.
