Now Now Now, I am not anti progress but I do hear some of people worries and complaints about AI. Right now AI and Automation is at it's beginning stage and targetting unskilled work but it will progress thru development to target all skilled jobs. Just becuz it's not here now targetting your industry, doesn't mean their not working in the background to automate your field also.
Govt and Private have not provided any scope or scale' on it such as low skilled jobs being automated only, so for everyone with any smarts about them knows what that mean, it's a living field and their going to advance it to the point automation is 100% of all economic activities. It may not come in 1 hit, but thru gradual, incremental, phase by phase approach and by the time it is fully automated, you lost an industry and all it's activities and you didn't even know it.
So at this point of time, when you seek self-checkouts and don't feel worried, do know that it will scale to also automate every industry to industry scale. What sort of world will that mean? what's the effect it will have on economies if people are no longer employable? what sort of effect will it have on human intelligence and brain development? I mean look at what the industrial age did to human health standards in the west and all the subsequent diseases and obesity, becuz the body didn't have time to adjust or adapt as it came radically over 200 year period.
