SSC President's recent statement has big ramifications for upcoming Puntland election

Dhulbahante will not take part in the upcoming election whether it's 1M1V or the 66 clan selection system. The mucaraad are now sweating since the latter model cannot be held without the 17 Dhulbahante MPs.

This is a massive political gift to Deni who can use this to possibly get an extension to hold 1M1V.

this is disaster for puntland 2-3 months before Deni term ends and not only is mode of election up in the air (1m1v vs 66 MPs). Now the constiution might need to be changed to determine what is actually Puntland land wise

Ensuring Puntland and somaliland don't have election on territory further legitimizes SSC. I think this is good move SSC shouln't get caught up in conflict happening in Puntland between Deni and opposition. All 17 mp's being behind him is also great news

Also, Warsangeli will have to decide if they want to remain in PL or join SSC (no alternative to the two) so that's another hurdle to navigate.

A grand conference similar to that of 1998 needs to be held to sort out these pressing issues.

There already been talk we are fully with the SSC and have been even prior to the las anod incident puntland can keep the speaker of house seat we don't need it no more.

No such thing as SSC, Puntland only acknowledges khatumo. Every Puntland politician always emphasises the keywords sool and khatumo. However, If dhulbahante think they are in a position to claim puntland lands, they will be taught a very hard lesson. Dhulbahante still don't understand MJ Culture.

Good luck to Khaatumo. Puntland needs to fix itself. We are at a cross roads. All those we have seen with political ambition are campaigning on clan basis or threat of violence. The PSF and PMPF should be fully integrated under Puntland's jurisdiction. We need hospitals and other critical infastrucutre. The road from Garowe to Eyl, creating a lifeline for tourism. Eyl is a popular spot for diaspora returnees and middle class Somalis, all across Somalia. That is revenue. The 3G Corridor also needs to be built. Road or sea ferry access from Bosaso to the eastern towns would be great as well. GGs Dhulbahante, it was nice. VP Ahmed Karaash is possibly the biggest GOAT in modern Puntland history but nobody wants to really talk about that.

This is good for both sides. Firdhiye recognizes PL as a potential crutch Reer SSC could fall on and wants his people to put everything towards gaining statehood. I can respect that.

The absence of Dhulbahante MPs basically ruins the whole 66 MP election model for mucaaradka. They banked on lobbying the Dhulbahante for their support, that’s no longer an option now.

The timing of this announcement come in perfect time for Deni to get 2 year extension. The constitution has to be redone , new borders assigned and new power sharing to be agreed on . With Leelkase threatening to walk away , I have a feeling even Warsangeli will fly their Makhir flag soon . The once great Puntland is ruined by ilmo Mohamud Saleban who greedily took turns to burn it to the ground . It won’t surprise me if Isse Mohamud finally put Puntland out of its misery and initiate an all-out war between the three Mohamouds
