With the recent announcement that PL is exercising its full autonomous status, let me remind Puntites why this political posture will guarantee we win no matter what way Puntland or Somalia goes. Below is the positives of this new Political posture;
1. No more stalemate politics with the SFG. Since 2013 with Farole govt cutting ties with the SFG up untill 2024 and Deni govt, cutting ties and waiting for new govt which turns out to be worse has caused significant time loss. This new full autonomous posture avoids all those losses.
2. We don't rush secession like South Sudan which led to a civil war collapse or turn into a North Korea style dictatorship like Djibouti and Eritrea. We can still return to the federal union based on the 2012 constitution, that channel is open if in the event PL becomes a state failure
3. We allow Somalia and the international community to watch PL develop its nation state capability over a long duration like 99 years in an autonomous status and see if it is a benefit to the region and world. If for some reason in 99 years the south is still in turmoil, we can discuss full separation or we can force the south to follow PL model using proof of performance and create a federation union on Puntland principles.
4. A healthy competition where the south and PL need to prove in their state performance their achieving good outcomes under their separate systems. Evidence based politics not give me faith or good will of politicians.
5. A Shurudyo a conditional based political agreement can be reached only after its evidence based and each side prove their system creates good governance, strong institutions, security, socio economic development, rule of law, local and foreign confidence. PL will use these pillars to assess the south every 25 years inside the 99 year treatise and not good will, faith, gentleman agreements, kickbacks, etc this is a govt posture across all our govt of the day and a shared policy across all our elites.
We basically got a fail proof political posture without throwing our eggs one way and riding of extreme policies. This is a new diversified policy where in the event Somalia fails it can be forced to follow PL model, if PL fails it can follow the south model, or if their is stalemate in 99 years time we can argue for a hybrid system where PL has its own autonomous system and the south has its own centralised system. Plus this ends the time waste because aduunka wayna la yaaban tahay as we lose so much time playing cheap ass politics while time is flying by and no outcome is being reached.
