@Abdalla Will this new airport bear AY's name? Or will it be named something else.

No idea. I hope they name it after the city. We should get rid of naming airports after important figure heads. Nobody will know in what city AY airport is located

Not sure, I doubt they will pay compensation since its an empty land. My brother owns quite some land in Galkayo and the government was building a road on that land in 2015. They just told his caretakers that they will build a road there, but did not offer any compensation. On a positive note, his land has a road now on all four angles. Any smart landowner would welcome that kind of development. You might lose a large chunk of land but the rest will be worth more.
I hoped they would sell the land to developers. What happened to the xerooyin, have they been sold?

I was at the foundation laying ceremony for this airport in December 2015. :obama: Great to see the progress.

To what extent was faroole involved in this project?

Dad bay meeli bugtaa I have seen him make that comment before there's nothing weird about it rich countries have cabinet level positions that deal with foreign aid or investment alone it's a diplomatic tool he doesn't understand that but he wants to make it look like there's a secret agenda :snoop:

Something is fishy. This isn't a free world buddy.

Wow, just wow. Puntland is making great strides, towards greatness.
In 2001, Tony Blair, made a famous speech about education in which he uttered the legendary phrase
"Education, Education, Education"
For Gaas it'll be,
"Development, Development, Development"
And boy, has Puntland developed like hell, in the past four years.

Kuwait controls alot more stuff in somaliland and puntland, they view theses regions as a cashcow i think they actually make a lot of money from trade and just want quicker routes to get in

Dude I am saying what is Kuwait real motive in investing i puntland. They helped fund bosaso road to ceel dahir and bosaso airport.

They also funded couple of projects in Somalilabd including the revamp of egal airport.

I don't know what's their motive or if they doing this under Islamic organisation .
Could be just sadagah. Charity.
