Cushite is not something that exists it is just some bullshit bible stories
tell that to the yemenis they seem to love thier south semite habesha cousins, they would even help them in the 1977 war against the somali cushites

here the yemeni president is welcomed after crushing the somalis in 1977 war

That was just a little show dance put up by the Eritrean president, there's no Beja group that just decided to welcome Farmaajo :ftw9nwa: Eritrea is fully under federal control, no such thing as tribal clades like in Somalia. Those dancers may not even be Beja lol

those dancers are beja you can clearly see them holding the traditional beja shields

afars use knifes too
somalis use it in the south in their saar dance
i wonder if the oromos have something similar.
What do Afar knived have to do with this? Those are Beja swords, not knives. The only horners that specialised in knife weapons were Somalis and Afars, other Cushites like habeshas, Bejas, etc used swords. The people of Dmt (pre Aksumite) invented a famous sword (prob the most known EA weapon) known as 'shotel'. It was still used by the Aksumites for their conquests but the use of the sword was dropped after. It was then resurrected by Yekuno Amlak and used in his armies when he went on his rampage across the horn.

It resembles the curved blade used by ancient Egyptians a lot (possible connection?) and was also featured in the Dark Souls game series.
