I like carrie underwood and the dixie chicks.
I spent a couple of months in rural Texas some years ago for work, and developed a taste for it, and of late, when driving between States, I some times tune in to the radio, and listen to Blue Grass; are you familiar with it?

The likes of Luke Combs, Dan & Shay etc are now Country pop in the mainstream.

Hurricane.

Tequila.

But it does not quite compare to this.

Ms Parton is like a fine caviar, tastes better with age.
Came across this version a while ago.

Yes, it is very commercialised, intended to appeal to the masses.

You may like this.
I really like the album Jolene! Listened to quite a bit of it yesterday. I'll have to delve more into her discography.

Edit: I'm afraid the original will always be a classic for me. This version doesn't hold a candle to it.

Yll know damn well that genre is disturbing, it’s usually the same cycle, break ups, whiskey, trucks, more heartbreaks, sleepless nights and it’s a repeat from there. That’s depressing as hell!! To each his/her own!

Not all country is like that, some songs are happy, but still the music is trash so it doesn't matter at the end of the day.
