Sleep soundly

I speak Arabic.

For what i can tell, this video is the 'recording' of fake-video [wherein Arabs would be abusing the Somali guy by choking him with the robe] that was left incomplete.

The Somali guy seems to be in on the fact that the video is fake because the arabs kept on telling him to stay there so that they can make the video to make it go viral.

If he was really being abused, then when he didn't want to play along anymore, they wouldn't have just let him get up and walk away.

Funny thing is that after he walked away, they kept on asking him to come back and take the money [that i'm guessing that agreed to pay him for playing the role of the victim in the video].

What does all of this mean? Are they making videos like this to deter Somalis from tahreeb?

Are these videos real?

Can't fucking Farmaajo or Siilaanyo or IOG make a deal with the libyan government or whatever there's left of it to go undercover with the help of NGOs to find and rescue these people and expose these hairy fucking arabs locations??

you would think years of hearing such abuse and torture would deter somalis. But no. It just keeps happening.

the lure of promised lands and money is just too strong for some people

And the urge to kill, main, rape and torture is too strong for dhegcas animals.

Exactly. I don't understand this victim blaming rhetoric, these people are searching for better lives and are being exploited/abused.
It's easy for us, in the West, to say "tahriib is wrong" but I guarantee if we lived in Somalia we'd try to leave too.

The girl in AJs post seems to be addressing her eedo. She is saying eedo you see how they are beating me. I know guys that did tahriib. They go there empty handed and take a risk. When they are caught, the 'magafe' call their family and ask for ransom. These videos might be a way to make them pay the ransom.

These whooping are bad? Please don't compare this to 12 years a slave whoopings. Slaves would have deep cuts in their back. I used to get whooping worst than these.

This.

They escape Somalia without consent, support and money, they get held hostage by these criminals who only want ransom.
Ransom is expensive, in the 10's of thousands.

This money could be used to open up profitable businesses in Somalia but they would rather risk rape, torture and abuse for the "promised land".
In the "promised land" of the West, there is unemployment, deportation and hard work.

After all the hard work successful tahriibis go through, they may not even end up with a cleaning/factory job.

I'm sure those who succeeded wished they could get that cash back.

Tahriib is dangerous and not even rewarding, these survivors must also be suffering from PTSD and other trauma caused by these savages.

Even Somalis who have lived in the West for over 2 decades can't afford tahriib ransom.
