All FMS to reportedly come out as opposition

Honestly speaking, I highly doubt SSC’s population nears that of Xamar. However, that shouldn’t stop them from getting a seat at the table. They’ve bled for Somalia and it angers me that they’ve been mistreated as to not anger those in power in the rest of Waqooyi, especially given the MOU.

I don’t see why “Irirism” is being mentioned here though. IOG is opposed to Somaliland atm due to his economic dependence on Ethiopia. SSC being given a seat at the table should help him if anything. Daarood also do the same thing anyways when they oppose Banaadir gaining FMS status. I don’t even see why it’s an issue anyway. Once we are able to implement 1m1v every region should get proportional representing so the number of “Hawiye” or “Daarod” states shouldn’t even matter at that point. I could honestly see SSC and Banaadir being added as full FMS at the same time as a way to balance the scales. Shame we’ve come to admitting states like they did in 19th century America.
It’s just the fact of the matter. Hassan takes orders from IOG, they’re best friends. They love each other more than somali fathers love child support. This open disrespect comes from Hassan, he is ok with hosting bihi in another country Djibouti but draws the line at hosting firdhiye in muqdisho. With his gaajo government talking about not meeting requirements to be a state when it has half of cayn, sool, and sanaag with the rest being warsan on their own side. They expel Ethiopian ambassador for dealing with puntland, but not when they made the MOU for a navy base. This guy deals with darood differently than even secessionist who he gives privileges to. Gurgurte isn’t going to have his way anyways so it’s alright. Someday a president will realize a patriotic state isn’t such a bad thing.

UN asking deni to conversate with the former president, as puntland now knows him.

Edit: ^strange, not sure what happened, the above one got deleted by the UN

I agree with you that SSC should have a seat but with all due respect Banaadir is at least 20% of the population. They more than deserve a seat. The fact that it isn’t a FMS is a tragedy and hopefully is resolved once the constitution is fully finalized with agreement from all member states in sha Allah. Xamar can’t be treated like Washington DC when so many people live there.
A city can’t be state nigga

Add the population of Puntland’s three largest cities together and it’s still smaller than Xamar. You can’t put 20% of the country in limbo. It’s serviceable now because of 4.5 but once there’s (eventually) 1m1v it absolutely must have a seat at the table.

There’s also cities which are federal states (such as Berlin). There’s no reason why we should make the same mistake as America did with Washington DC. Even then, DC is less than 0.5% of America’s population. Banaadir is at minimum 20%. It can’t run.

In all honesty it should, it doesn’t make sense how weirdos who are not even from xamar can become president of Somalia and start land grabbing.
I think it should be a state AND a city for all of Somaliweyn. No desire for it to be exclusive to only one major qabiil. As a state it should be 100x more efficient than other FMS. Small size and high density makes delivering services cheaper and more affordable per tax payer than when you have a spread out population.

Only weirdos who’s forefathers were doing this:

Can become presidents in xamar only and represent the xamari or banadiri folks.

Not sure what these are. Is this something which isn’t allowed in Islam

Of course it’s our capital, any and all are welcome. I was talking specifically about the land seizure to private businesses.

You have a point too, xamar has more credibility than a mere state. So to reduce it to FMS is diminishing its value.
In this federal system you can’t have 20% of the country with no parliamentary representation. We get our representation now through 4.5 but once we move to 1m1v it’s unthinkable that such a large segment of the country will have no say, especially when we’re the ones who have been paying the taxes that help fund the FGS.

Won’t you have even more representation with your population during 1m1v?

And that’s just trash leadership sxb. We’re all victim to that not just xamar. The government should build infrastructure elsewhere and tax that. Isbaroo and Shabaab tax the rest of the country which isn’t xamar. Galmudug have massive uranium reserve, PL has enough copper to bring 2bil to our gdp, jubbaland would lower food prices throughout Somalia, SSC has oil & massive amounts of gold. This would lead to a renaissance of income to the nation to industrialize, all xamar has to do is defeat AS to prove its strength. Which is too much of a high bar apparently.

No. Right now we get representation in parliament through 4.5 because it’s assumed that Hawiye and some of the .5 have vested interests in Xamar so they’ll represent the people of the capital. If we transition successfully to 1m1v at some point in the future under this current model we’d have no representation as parliamentarians would theoretically be elected by state, not by qabiil. A Murusade or Sacad Galmudug MP would then actually have to be from Galmudug and represent the interests of their constituency, which is great, but this means no seats for Banaadir, which isn’t tenable.

Even now in the senate, there are some senators who theoretically represent states like Galmudug but have no connection to the actual state. They just come under Galmudug because they’re Hawiye but in reality they’re born and raised in Banaadir.

Of course, if 1m1v occurred and we had FMS status or something that gave us adequate parliamentary representation then absolutely. Banaadir would probably have as many seats as GM and HS combined if not more.

Only the senate is chosen on the basis of federal member states, but Banadir will vote for the lower house if there is 1m1v.
