2021 Will be a year of Change for Somalia's security

Somalia is transitioning into stabilization in the short and long term and this was done through overcoming major milestones. The transition will be foremost in regards to security as the SNA takes over from AMISOM that has been on our soil since 2007.

We need this administration to continue on building on their legacy from the first term since no leader can achieve large amounts of progress in only 4 years. We have important milestones to get past such as the ICJ court case which is set for early 2021, the debt clearing which is well on it's way and the arms embargo as well. These are only a few of the major milestones to get to but with competent leadership it is possible.

I’ll admit I’m not really up into the politics and I hope so.

There's a big difference in what those words mean now. The era before 2013 was mainly a TFG based government which means transitional federal government. After that period is when the soverignty of Somalia actually returned in most of it's capacity which is what we have now the FGS which is no longer a transitional government.

So in reality there has been only 7 years of a government with most of it's powers and since the country was in turmoil for a long period it's take a long time to recover. The old proverb goes something like 'it's easy to destroy, but difficult to rebuild' so it'll take patience and competent leadership.

Leaders like George Bush who many view as incompetent was given 8 years in the US and had some negatives and positives, Obama was also given 8 years to make some changes. So it'll take more than one 4 year term to bring about what you're looking for.
