Your Economic School of Thought

I made this thread to get a glimpse of the economic schools of thought that people subscribe to and the economists and economic theorists they regard as knowledgeable-insightful.

I am a market Socialist.

My list of economists and economic theorists:

Gar Alperovitz
Michael Hudson
Steve Keen
Hyman Minsky
Richard Werner
Cliff Hugh Douglas
Yanis Varoufakis
Bill Mitchell
Henry George
Silvio Giselle

Shit, I just remembered you DM-ed me about this. Sorry, bro. I had a lot going on and it slipped my mind! But I'll reply on this subject soon.

I haven't really gone deep into economics, but Socialism is where I lean. Particularly, Adam Smith and David Ricardo, not 100% a Ricardian Socialist, but I have taken an interest and liking towards his work in my teens.

The big two for me are Keynes and Amartya Sen.

Other economists are secondary to the big two imo.

Thank you so much for informing me about Amartya Sen; I just read up on his theories and lifework, and the man is certainly incredible -- as an individual as well as an economist.

I can see why you hold him in such high regard.

Keynes is a juggernaut, but I didn't mention him and Adam Smith because I wanted to focus on less prominent economists.

It's all good, mate. I figured you were busy and that you would reply when you had the time.
