Lol yeah. I remember watching a Documentary about the descendants of those British convicts who were looking for their distant relatives in the UK.

It's funny how most of the Australians with Convict ancestors on the program became highly-paid professionals and their British relatives were working-class/impoverished folks.

I have heard that many of them were sent off for petty crimes. Like stealing food or failing to pay small debts and not stuff like murder or organized crime.

Perhaps that explains why Australia became successful despite having a convict ethnogenesis.
