I was just discussing this with a Slavic childhood friend who still lives in Dubai. These westerners really act like it's still the Middle-Ages in the Khaleej when the living standard, safety and such are all better than the West and I can say that confidently as someone who's lived in both.

And most of the "medieval" laws don't even get all that enforced by the local cops. I've seen this firsthand many-a-time myself. For example, suicide is technically illegal in I think 5-6 out of the 7 Emirates but I knew someone who attempted suicide and all that happened was that they got taken to the hospital, treated for the physical damage they'd done to themselves, taken to jail for like a morning or so after, asked by a lawyer why they did it and if they were alright and basically just let go.

They didn't even owe anything for the medical attention cos it was an emergency at a government hospital; normally free up to the point of stabilization. Can Americans even say that? Mothafuckas straight-up ruin a person's entire life for being run-over or some shit. Not the best mental health treatment, of course, and they should have seen a psychiatrist but no one really wants to enforce the law of actually arresting someone for trying to do that. The same applies for most other things.

These westerners are supreme and racist morons, by all accounts. The Khaleej has its issues for f*ck sure but not usually in the ways they pretend or think.

I wouldn't know what countries throw the book when it comes to drugs but idk if ur holding a death sentance for 50g let alone 5kg maybe its cus in the west people who supply or possess it don't really get the book thrown at them but prob in the east you're right they'd get crazy stretches of time compared to the west but thats probably more if they are running some sort of operation like if they're the head huncho and got caught or sumth but Im really skeptical about a death sentance over drug charges like in this case
