It is clear that there will not be a 1 man 1 vote in 2020 despite what Farmajo has been saying since he got elected. Only 1 of these steps has been achieved which is the election law. Do you believe they will blame coronavirus?

The election was never going to happen this year. All signals from the FGS have pointed to a baseless extension. Baseless extensions are not unprecedented. HSM got a 4 month one, if I recall correctly. The difference was that Farmajo was signaling an extension of at least a year while he figured out how to destroy the opposition and rig the election.

The electoral law includes a provision that allows for extensions in case of emergencies and terrorism. This was controversial because terrorism is a constant issue in the south. It was a naked attempt to easily form the basis for an extension. No one thought about the emergency provision because no one thought that an actual emergency would occur. With other countries delaying elections, it is now guaranteed that there will be an extension. I wouldn't be surprised if it was indefinite until 'we figure out just what the hell is going on' as Trump would say. Coronavirus is a dream come true for Farmajo.

My only question is what the Hawiye opposition will do. They promised to do another 1991 and send Farmajo to a toilet in Nigeria if he stayed one second longer in the villa beyond his term. It will be very embarrassing when that day comes and they just hold very angry press conferences as usual.
