Serious no cycle lanes, or pedestrian crossings? why are there very little shopping centres nearby? why are buses and public transport basically non existent?

Hopefully we learn from this before we build up Somalia. Urban design is something you need to take in consideration early on or it will end up costing far more to undo the damages incurred by negligence.

Mate America Urban design is depressing, no sense of community, it feels like a deserted place where you don’t see people walking about etc as a result of no pavements and oppressive car culture.

I like the U.K. model, where I can walk everywhere, whenever I want, I don’t need a car unless I’m travelling long distance, I can go to a nearby corner shop and buy a traditional English Yorkshire pudding with tea without using my car. I can see my neighbours walking about here and there thanks to the great walking paths this country is blessed to have, this gives a sense of community, and I hope back home as Somali cities develop, hopefully they use the U.K. urban version rather than the US.
