The damn shows and movies bought about the Diana epidemic amongst our people back home.

It was worse then that there are Some people that actually learned all the dance moves that involved elbow slapping.

Was reading about it a few years ago and how one of the first popular media brought to somalia in 50's was Indian music and films by somali merchants in India In the 1950's.

Yes, I always wondered when did there media enter our culture because it's been there a long time but no one ever batted an eye to why it was there?

There used to be some Indians in Muqdisho.

Maybe through them or because Bollywood had similar themes to Somali stories and less wasakhnimo on screen.

Your giving those musty bastards too much credit.
What do you mean? The average Somali back home can relate to Bollywood as the stories always centre around a guy falling in love with bla bla.

Perhaps Bollywood wouldn’t so popular if the war didn’t destroy the cultural scene. We would have our own movie scene by now.

I think the future generation will be more into Somali rap influencers etc……::

Its just that we need to transition from there media because we have are own Somali actors and singers that are great and on the raise. For instance i was watching bile network on youtube they have this tv called Arday or Astaan media on youtube with tv show called habboon.
