Why Somalis should re-evaluate their position on Israel

Currently, the Somali government, along with the other countries in the region, do not recognise the State of Israel,

This is a mistake, there is no benefit of recognising Palestine over Israel.

The Israelis are superior to the other countries in the region, they have rebuilt their nation. The Israelis can provide much-needed assistance to the Somali people(agricultural etc)

On the other hand, if Mr cheese carries on blindly following the other leaders in the region, who would benefit from this? His and his friends pockets.

We should start to take a more realistic approach, think for ourselves rather than following the Arab league.

Egypt and Jordan recognise Israel, so do not bring religion into this.

I say we should take advantage of the fact that Israel is in a stronger position.

So what if we recognise Israel? What will that do for us? The narrow bridge we have with Arabs is not worth burning over symbolic and edgy reasons. When the Jews want us at the table, I have no issues with Somalia showing up. Until then, there's no point voicing our 'support' for Israel. Unless we need to trigger Twitter Pallies of course.

What will we gain from recognizing isreal other than making the Arabs mad who are our main trading partners

Arabs are not our only trading partners. We also export to Malaysia, and if you just turn around for a moment you see a continent of over a billion, most of working age and eager to trade. Africa is the future.

We need to stop with this ideological crusade. The whole arab link is no use to us. Why should we align ourselves with some of the gulf states who have no respect for human rights, Somalis included, and only care about starting a war with Iran?

The only gulf states we should carry on being close with is Oman, as they are neutral, and the UAE since many Somalis live there.

Israel has a lot to offer, they receive a ton of money from the US, they have turned the desert green and know many beneficial methods for GDP growth, especially in an area like that. Israel is also one of the only service economies in the middle east, the rest export raw materials.

Somalis should not cut off ties with the rest of the middle east, only open more doors.

Arabs our main trading partners and I don't see why recognizing a shitty desert state will help us in anyway

Your agenda and bias is super obvious already. What makes you think this is an ideological crusade? I asked you objectively what Israel's recognition will do for us. A speculative but reasonable presumption would be to infuriate Arabs. Yes, the same people who are magnitudes more relevant to us in terms of economic (and cultural) merits. When Israel can objectively provide a better relationship between us, only then we can discuss this. I very much doubt Israel has any real interest in Somalia, recognised or not.

They've actually depleted their water resources which is why they annexed the water abundant region of Golan Heights. Not a good example to use. Also, it's a propoganda that they turned a desert green when in reality they have this:

There is nothing that Israel can offer us, period.
