Most science education today focuses purely on the practical application of scientific knowledge and neglects the philosophical aspects of science which in turn produces scientifically illiterate students. Scientific reasoning, ethics, and vocabulary of science, these are all important components necessary for scientific literacy which are not taught in science education. This problem highlights one of the many issues with the Prussian education model.

YES! Finally someone has said this. I’m doing a science degree right now and it seems like we almost never touch on the fundamentals of science such as scientific thinking or the philosophical aspects of it. I would really love for it to have a focus on that as well as the usual theory and practical knowledge.
