I would rather they replace it with a nasheed but.... if they are going to have an anthem with music..... I do think it's a good idea for them to replace it. The star spangled banner could be seen as being a relic of the past, outdated. Some things are genuinely timeless. The Star Spangled Banner, I think has not aged well. I think Yahoo is suggesting an interesting and innovative new idea.

In an increasingly anti-racist era when problematic iconography is being reassessed or retired, the national anthem seems to be striking a wrong note.
