Why it is stupid to compare Al-shabab to Taliban

Taliban are from the pashtuun, the biggest tribe in Afghanistan. Al-shabab is just made up of small clans like Somali bantu, Awrtable, Merehan, Murusade etc

In wars it is normally the ones with the majority who win. The biggest clans in Somalia are anti Al-shabab such as HG, which is why Al-shabab will never capture anything significant. Comapre to the Islamic courts who were made up of HG, how they captured the entire south of Somalia. Or USC.

Al-shabab are just a small terrorist org that bomb and kill and then run away. Who are made up of Somali bantus, Merehan, Murusade etc. Weak communities.

This has nothing to do with clan but once you view politics exclusivly from a clan angle and a terrorist groups tries to be more inclusive in their courts, armies, and even governance; they'll win.
