To be fair, Nairobi Somalis are from all over and aren't necessarily Sijus/Reer-NFD. You'll find every tribe running around in Eastleigh and lots of western diasporans settle down in Nairobi.

Forget Eastleigh, the prosperous areas in Nairobi have high-rises owned by Somalis, of all kind of clans. Same goes for Mombasa, Somalis own high-rise apartments etc.

It's outrageous how much Somali wealth is in Kenya.

Xabashis are basically running a police state and make it very hard to do business and Geele is pretty similar and gets the jitters the moment anybody gets too rich and has too much clout. So Somalis went to the country next door with some western style rule of law and a much greater ease of doing business. It's a tragedy. Jabuuti city could've been a Horn-African Singapore and Addis as bustling as Nairobi.
