I think that girl was joking. You know how Somalis love trolling and joking around.

Or it could have just been a fun way of expressing her love dor Turkish people/culture not meant to be taken literal.
No; she wasn't nor was this a show of appreciation for the Turks/Ottman history. I'm pretty spot on when it comes to reading social cues and deciphering the difference between a joke and seriousness. She meant it 'literally'. That's the sad part. :ohdamn:

One doesn't need to lineage vulture to appreciate other cultures. You can just read about them or make note of a particular factoid.

There is alot of Somali women into Turkish dramas and/or love visiting Turkey. So they don't really have to know anything about Turkish history. They are not forumers like you or myself into lineage or history or what not, so it would be weird for you to try to interpret it that way.

I know some non-Somalis that have Somali friends or grew up around Somalis and would put up the Somali flag and claim it as a bit of a joke thing.

It is either that or she just a weird person.

She was a diaspora Somali that was in the West since childhood. Not a watcher of Turkish dramas. I think most Somalis know they don't have blood ties to Turks. Let's just call a spade a spade. She and her friend (of a similar qabil from a mainstream Somali clan) believed the same tall tale so it wasn't an isolated incident.:ohno:

You ''THINK'' most Somalis? HAHAHA! You really dragging this arent ya lmaaoo .
The same chick saying this was bragging about being inbred from the same sub-sub-sub tol on both sides of her family for generation

And your story don't add up with the rest of what you said. Definitely yeah some super qabil centric girl who brags about being from the same sub sub sub clan lineage on both parents side , will also claims partial Turkish descent. FYI not an isolated incident:mjlol:
