The budget of my local council for garbage and recycling disposal is triple somalia’s 2018 budget. Furthermore, the government is under siege from Alshabaab and has to prioritise expenditure on security. Funds are so depleted that more and more people are seeking to join the ranks of internally displaced people, the numbers of illiteracy, child mortality rates, unemployment is growing rapidly. A season or two without rains will cause famine and the deaths of thousands of people and in successive years, we’ve been voted to be the most corrupt nation. Let’s sell Somalia to the Chinese and they will settle every clan in one of these ghost mega cities in China and they will turn Somalia into a productive country.

Plenty of ways to raise enough money to triple the budget.

It's just that greed gets in the way of progress.

Put up the land in the south up for auction.

There is at least a 150k hectares of prime agricultural land they could lease and enough water to irrigate it.
