Why is Hargeisa not consider the midwest?

I'm not understand the reference to Hargeisa as the true north because of we are talking geography it's technically the Midwest and Awdal state is the west. In my consideration the north is Bosaso. In this reference we should us 1980 map of Somalia.

These are of colonial references derived from the original 8 regions and 49 districts.
  • [1] Hargeysa & Awdal: North West
  • [1] Togdheer & Sanaag: North East
  • [1] Bari & Nugaal: Majertania
  • [2] Mudug, Hiiraan, each on its own
  • [1] Lower & Middle Shabeelle incl. Xamar was Banaadir
  • [2] Upper & Lower Jubba, each on its own.

Hobyonian
Is sultanate that controlled almost all the south Somalia. The name is hobyo sultanate
After the fall of the Sultanate, the whole region became known as Mudug from Galkacyo all the way to Ceelbuur (Sultanate's business centre). Hobyo, its HQ, and Xarardheere, its 2nd outpost have since become shells of their old selves in then glory days.

Of course Western territories from Walwaal, Shiilaabo, Gallaadi and farther afield had been annexed to .Et as part of the Hawd and Reserve area strategy to: a) Protect trade and train tracks connecting East Africa companies (UK) to Jibouti (France), all to the pleasure of the benefactories in European cities under construciton post WW II, and b) Appease .Et, which had been useful in the defeat of the Dervish movements in the Sudan, and .So.

Colonials didn't care for precision and respect for clan territories. They merged groups that had not historically collaborated into unions in some areas. IMO, they were a major problem, and their historic legacy is apparent today.
