Why haven't the West African countries apologised to the descendants of their own people, who ancestors were sold into slavery by them

Why hasn't the Nigerian, Ghanaian, Senegalese governments and the rest of the countries in West Africa, all apologized for their role in the slave trade, why don't they teach this in their schools?. Why haven't they given reparations to the millions of their own people who were sold to the European slave traders by their own African kings.

In the UK, they are now taking down iconic historical figures who played a part in the slave trade, why don't West African governments do their part too.
