Why don’t we have matchmaking in the Somali culture

If dating is so haram then why don’t we do what timojilic muslims do and have matchmaking aunties that set up young men and women together to get to know each other? And eventually get married?

We make it seem “ceeb” for families to match make within the community and then wonder why young somalis are getting in “haram relationships” or marrying non somalis. We’re a minority here and either need to adapt or accept the fact that people will date and marry who is in close proximity to them which most of the time will not be somalis

That's what a healthy vibrant community does which we are far from, these aunties you speak off can't even get along with each other and most of them are homewreckers not homemakers.

They have destroyed their own households, how can you expect them to build others? as for the men, there preoccupation is fadhi ku dirir and politics backhome, this ensures they will always be at each others throat and never be united, and as a result never build a cohesive community anywhere.

The outcomes are saaqid confused children, record number of homewreckers, and a bottom barrel despised community.

It’s haram when you start involving zina or other haram actions into it.

One has to know their partner before marrying.

IMO dating isn’t haram if you’re intending on seriously considering that person for marriage. If you aren’t then it’s haram.
