Why doesn't the somali army use trench warfare to defend the areas they control in galmudug like how russia did

It's not a bad idea, but the leadership of the army is bad. If they did this, they would save the lives of many soldiers
Soldiers, when attacked, often withdraw because they have no hiding place to go to
