I legit just had some Somali dude lie to me about the state of his car yesterday but when I paid money online to check the truth turns out it was a catagory C write off.

I have long taken somalis off the pedestal and treat them like any other ethnicity on the street

What did you expect? lol this is an example of what i said earlier, do you expect a large group of people to all be good?

Somalis are people like anyone else there are good and bad among us, its about you and what you believe.

lmao i'm sorry for what you went through though

That question is why we have terrorists

Terrorists were rejects of the society. They wanted to find somebody who could accept them

We all are social creatures. We will always want to be part of something no matter if it's right or wrong

I don't think it's that they never believed in it in the first place but rather that they had a wrong/weak foundation.
If an individual accepts a belief or idea without truly delving into it and understanding it, then it makes sense that they'll just as easily be swayed the other way.

When it comes to religious concerns, the above statements are especially true. Some people leave or switch religions due to their own negative experience; they turn their subjective personal truth into a representative for an objective truth. It's one thing if they arrived to their conclusion via research and deep thought but sadly, quite a few people allow their emotion to supersede their common sense.

It's illogical but also understandable. As human beings, we are gifted with the capacity to be rational (something that separates us from other animals) but not all of us choose to make use of it. :zhqjlmx: It's frustrating, but that's life.

TL;DR
Lack of conviction comes from:
Lack of In-depth understanding
[in regards to the idea/topic at hand] (individual may be ignorant or only have surface level knowledge of w/e it is).
Lack of Solid/rational foundation [in regards to the idea/topic at hand] (individual may have adopted their belief due to the wrong reasons i.e parents told them it was the right thing and to just obey; no proper explanation provided).
Lack of Self-reflection [in regards to the idea/topic at hand] (individual fails to question themselves, "why do I believe this?", fails to routinely assess and challenge the beliefs/thoughts that they hold, etc).

You're right and thats how life is. We enter this world and people are telling us what is right and what to believe from the very beginning. Making rash emotional decisions is understandable, but for a child or a very young person, its understandable. But when you become an adult i can't make that excuse for anyone, its pathetic and concerning.

You're absolutely right though, thanks for sharing.

Yeah you're right some people are just doomed to always be lost but some people we can reason with. In every society there are these types if its not terrorist groups its other similar destructive groups.
