This guy only saw the first episode, and yes the main character struggles from fitting into America while being muslim, but I don't think Islam is portrayed in a negative way, its more portrayed as exotic and neutral.

That's so unrealistic. Most of us find the smell of khinzir revolting. I think the author who is a convert interjected her former (Non-Islamic) Anglo-Saxon tastes/food preferences and superimposed them on this Muslim South Asian girl. Albeit she is imaginary but still should have been more culturally authentic. That comic strip isn't funny. It's corny.

Not gonna like I really like the editing and overall production in the first episode. This thread actually reminded me the second one is out. Even though, so far they haven't really touch unto Islam that much. The brother if I remember correctly from the comics is the religious one in the family. So far they haven't really shown much of him. Either way I wouldn't be surprise of Disney just ignores Islam all together. They pretty much did that in Moon Knight, and that character was Jewish.

That is so true, honestly representation in Western culture is the worst thing we could do to ourselves, because they are always going to paint us in a bad light or just make us look and act like them. We don't need their dumb representation. I prefer for my Islamic culture to be seen for what it really is by going to Muslim countries then for you to make dumb "Muslim" superheroes that don't want to be Muslim anyways.

the entire movie and tv show culture is adopted from shakespeare and the likes, which if you read up on was very wierd and introduced faahishah into society, they want us to imitate non-muslims stupid practices, I don't want to be represented on kuffar tv shows or movies, I want real life representation, if you want to know what Muslims are like then meet them, don't need to watch media about them.
All media is fake or misrepresentative anyways
