That is interesting.I don't know about the ear part, but I think the idea of calling Arabs/Natufian derived peoples as Red people came from the Ancient Sabeans with whom our ancestors interacted with. The Sabeans called themselves 'Saba Qayh' [Red Men].
Yeah the idea of race is not a recent phenomenon that disingenuous people try to make it out to be. Take a look at how the Old Egyptians depicted themselves, the Natufian-rich Ancient Egyptians typically depicted themselves as Brown with a Reddish hue which was their standard color for depicting themselves. That is interesting.
I thought these terms were just recent things but it seems it goes way back.
Race has always existed as long as tribes have existed.Yeah the idea of race is not a recent phenomenon that disingenuous people try to make it out to be. What? Cas means red.Cas means light skin in Somali, so either red ears from the sun or their ears were lighter toned.
Dhega-cas is explanatory, they have red ears, whatโs hard to grasp.Dunno how to spell it.
I have wondered why but couldn't find an answer to it.
Waryaa afka baro. Cas means red and since Somalis are dark ASF it became a word for light skin. So if you hear a person say "Naag taas wey cas tahay" she's literally not red she's just lighter skinned. It confused me at first too. Ethiopians refer to themselves as red or copper colored to denote that they are lighter skinned than other ethnic groups. But I agree it probably just means they have red ears. What? Cas means red.
