I am a proud neo liberal. Big corporation and big business is the most important thing to an economy and the government should keep its filthy, useless, ineffective and inefficient hands from any industry. Privatization is the way to go. I hope somaliland privatized what little it controlled

Privatization is great but people go full retard when they want to privatize everything. Certain things like health care and education should not be run for profit. Germany and Britain have a healthy balance between socialism and capitalism.

Ba baa baa boring political disscussion not this again waraabe are you an old man with no life ?

And no I loath privatisation as every service that is private seems to be run down as cost cutting is always seen favourable and its the staff that lose out about. Profit before people in fact I'm sick of capatilism. Sick of the lying thieving government a bunch of hypocritical oligarchs who love to smile at others misery

Mmm, laissez faire until said industry fucks up and goes back crawling to the government for a bailout amirite.:sass2:

Anyways over here in North America, the corporate strong hold has a firm and tight grip on government. Take America for example. The gap between the two (Repub. and Demo.) establishments is almost invisible. Obama has done almost nothing for the working/labour class, even though his entire Hope/Change campaign was based on promises of reducing corporate control and implementing policies that would benefit the middle and working class. Right wing ideas still drive the national agenda, despite a Democrat government. Neo-liberalism has shaped domestic and foreign policy since the late 1970's and it emcompasses every facet of our society and economy here in North America. @waraabe you got your wish m8, neo-liberals already run the world.

I'll be honest, I'm not too familiar with the political and economic landscape over across the Atlantic see. But personally, I think the biggest threat to our democracy are these same corporations you praise @waraabe. How can you have a real democracy when businesses and corps. can singlehandedly influence presidential elections through campaign funds/donations and lobbying. Their vote, not from a ballot but from cheques, holds far more weight than any normal citizen. I may not agree with Bernie Sander's economic policies, but he was always right about one thing - corporate america is always going to be the biggest threat to the people and their democracy. Corps. always have to be held accountable. Since when could they transcend laws and regulations. Like the user above me said, a good balance of both is needed.

My parents fled for their lives from the Communist Somali Republic. I know the evils of the far left.

I am a neoliberal and I will say it loud and proud

Bal eega neefkaan. Your parents fled because of civil war. Not because they disagreed with the Somali government's economic policies.
