From what my grandma and other North Africans tell me is that while they’re Arabized, they weren’t slaves. North Africa up until the 5th century was Catholic. The Berber Catholics had a huge falling out during the oppression of Christians under Emperor Diocletian, many Christian leaders obeyed the order to surrender sacred texts to state authorities for destruction. One of those who agreed to do this was Felix of Aptunga, which made him a traitor to the faith in the eyes of many. After Christians regained power, some believed that those who obeyed the state rather than become martyrs should not be allowed to hold church offices, and that included Felix. I feel like the amazigh became Muslim because their values align with their values more .

They were certainly conquered and Arabizesd by the Arabs. I wouldn’t got far to say they were enslaved by the Arabs. And if they were it wasn’t widespread
If ppl were conquer and arabiness doesn't tht mean those ppl are servent of the arabs and arabs can slave them and I think some of those ppl were slaves
Conquering a country doesn’t necessarily mean enslavement. Italy conquered our country does that mean the Italians enslaved us? Of course not.
The Berbers at the time was Orthodox Christians and was part of the declining Byzantine Empire. The Arabs under the Ummayad Caliphate conquered the Berbers.
The Berbers after being conquered and surrending they embraced Islam and slowly adopted the Arab language and was influenced by Arab culture.

Yes cuz slave is person or persons tht don't have free will and somalis didn't have free will when arabs and turks and Italians and Englishs ppl conquer them I think Somalis were raped both males and boys and females and girls and some somalis were tortured and a bussed and I think some somalis were taken as slave when Arabs and turks and Europeans conquer Somalis

Literally every race was enslaved during the Muslim conquests,from the Assyrians to Turks to Berbers. The only difference is slavery isn’t picking cotton as most people will think it of, it was more the women become concubines, males become eunuch/guards for the owner.
